At Children in Mind, we pride ourselves on helping young people from 0-25 lead improved and fulfilled lives. Our team of dedicated practitioners specialize in child therapy services and adolescent mental health, boasting over 20 years of experience within NHS child mental health services. Some of our practitioners hold multiple professional registrations, providing an enhanced and specialized multi-disciplinary team.
We use Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scales – Youth Version (DASS-Y) to assess emotional difficulties in young people.

Each of our practitioners provides expert assessment, formulation, intervention, and treatment. With extensive knowledge and experience, they have worked in a wide variety of clinical settings, including psychiatric inpatient and community environments. All our practitioners have a background in the NHS, receive regular supervision, engage in ongoing personal development, and stay updated with the latest clinical services and research.

Professional Standards and Safeguarding
All our practitioners have undertaken safeguarding training to level 3, other mandatory training, and areas of interest training. They are all registered with governing bodies that regulate our practice. Each practitioner has had an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check completed in the last three years, with ongoing checks as standard. Practitioners also hold indemnity insurance and are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), ensuring your data is stored in compliance with GDPR.
Our ADHD Assessments service offers thorough evaluations using validated tools, teacher and parent reports, and clinical interviews to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Referrals and Involvement
We accept referrals from professionals and self-referrals. We encourage potential referrals to contact us to start meaningful dialogues from the beginning, maintaining communication throughout your care and treatment with our service. We work inclusively, involving parents and carers in the care and treatment process unless otherwise requested.
Service Limitations
Please note, we do not work with young people in inpatient psychiatric services or provide interventions at the point of discharge. We are not a crisis service and cannot respond to emergency situations but can provide guidance and appropriate action if needed. In urgent situations, we advise attending A&E and contacting emergency services. We do not provide legal work to focus on delivering clinical care and treatment. However, we can work with insurance companies; please discuss this during your initial enquiry.
